A year for liz and derek

Happy One Year Anniversary Liz and Derek!!
Liz and Derek are such a cute couple and I am blessed to have them in my life.
Here is their love story!
Enjoy!!

Derek was born November 3 1982 along with his twin sister Alyssa. Derek was quite a cutie, even though his eyes were crossed sometimes :D

Then came Liz on April 6 1986. She didn't have a twin, just a pesky and too helpful older sister.

Derek grew into a handsome young boy.

Liz learned that she loved to bake at quite a young age. Little did she know this would come in very handy one day!

Derek dreamed a having a wife someday. Maybe he was dreaming of going to the moon, but for the sake of the story we will say he was dreaming of having a wife.

Liz dreamed of having a husband too. She loved her daddy very much and loved borrowing his sunglasses, but she knew someday she would borrow another mans.
Liz had quite the talent when she was younger.
Her talents would one day turn into something like this.

Derek had his talents too.

That also would one day turn into this.

Derek had the look down. Now.. just for the right girl.....

Derek had a great group of guy friends. Little did he know they would someday stand beside him on the day he took his bride.
Sidenote- I have no idea who the gentleman in the middle is and he was not one of D's men :D
Derek, an avid lover of the Hawkeyes, loved going to the games with his brother but dreamed of going to the games with a girl.
Liz knew she would always be a daddy's girl but also wanted to be a wife.
UNI, Jesus, The Navigators, Meghan-Erin & Katie, AOL & my crossed fingers brought these two kiddos together. They knew pretty quick that they had been looking for each other all along. They quickly fell for each other and in November they made it official.
Texas Roadhouse with the Homan's and a nice chat with Tom and Diane in the car sealed this deal and they started dating.
Sports have always been a huge part of Derek's life. Liz, being the great gal she is, went along with his love for sports. Too bad this ICubs game got rained out though-but then they got Frozen Custard and life was good.

Derek wasn't the only one to have Liz try new things. Liz introduced Derek to some new traditions like the balloons and

carving pumpkins.

Derek finally got to take a lady friend to cheer on the Hawks. Liz was more than a lady friend to Derek though! They were totally in love and Liz was ready for a rock.

The couple came up with many nicknames for each other over the time they were dating. They also made new names for parks. So, Charlie Brown took his honey on a very special date.

He made a scapbook, a make shift beach and a picnic and got down on one knee and asked Liz to be his bride. Wanna know what she said?!!

People were really excited to hear the news! Like me for example. Brian and I got engaged almost exactly a year ago at this point and had been married for two months. I was so excited for them to enter into such glorious season of life.

The wedding plans were done, showers were over and the decorations were set. It was time for the big day! You know they say that practice makes percect? Well.. we were really tired so we had Michael get us some energy drinks. They helped a little but gave the bride weird dreams Opps.
So we practiced, and we did so good that Pammy and Denny decided to treat us all to Famous Daves. It was so good.
Just ask this little stud of a ringbear Gage! He at about 11 pieces of corn.

Liz practiced being a wife by helping the groom with his eyebrows. This sports loving man wasn't so sure what to think of this beauty treatment. But, he survived.
Jesus was present for this couples beautiful day in more than one!
Girls will be girls! Special people were all around for this brides day.
Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Like the limo driver being really late. Oh well.. it was still a blast!

The beautiful couple had one of the best days of their lives. Laughs were had, tears were shead and Jesus Christ was glorified. Liz even surprised Derek by having them walk out of the church to the Iowa Fight Song. She had only been a wife for a few minutes and already knew how to score points with her hubby. Good girl!

Mommy and Daddy were sure proud of their little girl. She is a great woman and found a wonderful husband.

Newlyweds always need money- so the guest emptied their pockets for a little game of boys vs. girs. The girls won and the boys had to sing a song- it was hilarious.

The studly ringbears Gage and Eric tore up the dance floor and had the little ladies falling in love.

Another man in Liz's life?! You bet, John is one of a kind!

The happy couple opened presents the next day and were surprised by a mower. Who has used it more- the husband or the wife?

This wedding party was tuckered out. So much work looking fancy and being at the bekon call of this high maintanince bride and groom, just kidding Liz and Derek are about thee most laid back couple!

This swanky couple bought a house too!

They took a fun trip to Aruba and fell in love all over again. Yeah for getting to take a trip to a warm place together! Waiting was all worth it huh?!

They meet new friends too.

And Mr.Mueller ate lots of icecream.

What a beautiful story you two!

Love you both.
